By founding the law firm jtPETERS, I want to create a law firm that provides highly specialized and excellent professional advice in family law and has arrived in the digital age. The human relationship with my clients is my top priority. As direct contact with my clients is particularly important to me, I have deliberately decided not to have a secretariat. I am easily reachable myself: on my office cell phone, on WhatsApp or by e-mail.

The work processes are completely digital and paperless. This enables fast communication and processing. Thanks to my digital way of working, which also includes advice via video call, I can easily work throughout Germany and across national borders. In my law firm, I want to provide family law advice the way it should be in 2024: modern, digital, human and approachable.

Out-of-court advice and representation in family law

When spouses separate or other family law conflicts arise in a family, there are usually a number of legal issues that need to be addressed. First of all, I clarify the facts of the case with you and analyze the legal situation in detail. I will inform you of your rights. Together we will develop a strategy and agree on a course of action to resolve the outstanding issues while safeguarding your legal and personal interests.

If necessary, I will contact the other party or their lawyer to work out a constructive solution. The main focus at this stage is to avoid an escalation of disputes and costly and lengthy court proceedings. My aim is to resolve your legal problems as quickly as possible so that you can quickly put the very stressful time of a family dispute behind you and move on.

My areas of advice and representation in extrajudicial matters include:

separation and preparation for a divorce
proceedings to equalize profit surplus between spouses (“Zugewinnausgleich”)

asset equalization between the spouses

In the last few years of my work, defending the rights of my clients in cases where a child has been taken into care by the youth welfare office and in child endangerment proceedings has become another focus of my work. Litigation in family law

Should court proceedings be necessary or if court proceedings have already been initiated against you, I will represent and defend your interests with commitment and vigor in court. As in out-of-court situations, I attach particular importance to the meticulous analysis of the legal and factual situation in court proceedings so that a powerful and tailor-made legal argument can be developed for you.

In addition to my wealth of experience from a large number of court proceedings, I also rely on broad legal research through the use of modern digital legal databases. These databases allow me to evaluate the latest case law and legal literature as well as the decisions of the highest courts in the past decades.

Here I examine the prospects of success of legal remedies such as appeals, legal complaints or the reopening of proceedings. My aim in this area is to reverse court decisions that are disadvantageous to you wherever possible.

Every case starts with an initial consultation. During the initial consultation, we discuss your case and you receive an initial assessment of the legal situation and a recommendation on how to proceed. In addition, the initial consultation also serves to allow the client and lawyer to get to know each other. The initial consultation lasts up to one hour. If further legal work is required after the initial consultation, you can decide whether you would like to hire me. I will also decide then whether I can and want to accept the case.
